Sage200manufacturing

Sage 200 Manufacturing includes all features found in Sage 50 Manufacturing and more, it forms part of the Sage 200 Suite – 200ca software solution that works across your whole business including activities from Accounts, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service and Support.

Sage 200 Manufacturing can help you solve your business constraints in a number of areas, that will help you improve your competitive edge.

From estimating through to planning, Sage 200 Manufacturing helps you to:

  • Meet delivery dates
  • Manage your cash flow
  • Control product quality
  • Reduce costs
  • Optimisation of production
  • Save time – not re-keying data
  • Stay on track at every stage of production
  • Share information, across the business
  • Accurately track deliveries

TightIntegration

Your manufacturing staff have complete visibility of the entire production process - from the original Sales Order to Works Order Processing and Work in Progress to finished goods in the warehouse.

Stock use can be summarised to a single line for each nominal account when posting to the Nominal Ledger, or split out to multiple lines by component.

Summarising nominal postings significantly reduces the volume of Nominal Ledger transactions, improving performance.

Batch Process

If your processes involve issuing a batch number or serial number to finished products, Sage 200 Stock Control can record this, enabling you to trace it to the customers who received it.

Automatically maintains essential quality standards and detailed traceability.

Multi BOM

Store multiple versions of a BOM, one of which is ‘active’ at a given time.

With powerful Version control switched on, only one person can edit or change a BOM at any time, and other users are aware that a BOM is being edited. Full change history is stored for each BOM.

Old BOMs can be marked as ‘Dead’, ‘Obsolete’ or ‘On Hold’. Obsolete BOMs can be revived but not built from, and Dead BOMs can be permanently deleted if required.

Operation Templates

The copy option allows you to quickly create a Bill of Materials. Operations comprise of labour, machines and Sun contract processes required to manufacture a finished item or sub-assembly.

You can enter operations into a library as templates in the Operations Register for subsequent use within BOM’s. This improves efficiency by allowing you to save time when entering new BOM’s.

Flexi Build

The Trail Kit facility can be configured to always build subassemblies, or always use from stock, or allow choice in each case.

You can manage products with multiple units of measure. Picking lists can be produced at the time of allocation or at a given time as required.

Using the Planning Module (MRP) multiple finished items can be included in stock calculations and allocations to ensure finished goods that have similar constituents of another assembly cannot use each other’s raw materials.

Sage 200 Manufacturing also supports ‘Phantom’ BOMs so you can create intermediate items that are never held stock in stock but are standalone constituents of another finished good.

Customer Boms

Users can replace individual items, add new items or amend quantities of existing items.

A ‘Partial Build’ feature means that if for some reason you don’t need to build all the items that raw materials have been allocated for, you can enter the quantity you have actually built.

In addition, for expedited builds, the system can cope with the situation where finished goods are built without first allocating raw materials.

Precise Costing

Detailed costs can be built in for each unit or build run. You can assign labour and machine time for each assembly process to ensure accurate costing. Additionally, you can allocate a proportion of a fixed cost/operating overhead to a run, based on an average number of units per run.

If a component changes, the rolled-up costs can be calculated automatically if desired. For components that do not use the standard costing method, the system will re-calculate the rolled-up cost of the finished goods upon allocation.

PlanningMFG1

The Master Production Schedule gathers information from Sage 200’s Sales Order Processing as well as Sales Forecast and Make to Stock items, collating all demand onto one screen. This information is then processed through the MRP module which also checks existing stock levels.

The software automatically calculates material shortages, both for bought-in and manufactured items and makes appropriate recommendations. Each stock item can have an unlimited number of alternative suppliers, along with lead times, cost prices, and supplier’s part numbers and minimum order quantity. Stock projection calculates predicted levels of selected stock items over any chosen time period.

When you have accepted the recommendations the program will automatically raise Works or Purchase Orders as appropriate. At this stage, you can also generate Work In Progress valuations that can automatically update into Sage 200 Nominal Ledger.

WOP

Works orders can be created automatically from MRP recommendations or entered manually. Stock levels are automatically updated when you allocate and/or issue stock against the works orders.

Picking lists, route cards, operation cards and job sheets can be produced. On completion of the works orders stock is automatically updated, enabling goods to be dispatched immediately.

There is also the facility to backflush through lower level sub-assemblies. This automatically issues all components through each of the levels and places finished items into stock.
